Q1. Why is the 30 pint portable dehumidifier being recalled?
A . Elevated temperature levels near the subject model's compressor could cause a short circuit which may present a potential fire and burn hazard. We are taking this action as part of our continued commitment to product safety and to providing the highest quality and service to our customers.

Q2. Have there been any reported injuries?
A . The company has not received any injury reports, but has received 11 reports of property damage incidents involving arcing, heat, and smoke, including four fires that spread to the building structure and involved significant smoke/water damage.

Q3. Can I continue to use my 30 pint portable dehumidifier?
A . No. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product, and disconnect the dehumidifier from the electrical power outlet.

Q4. How can I tell if my dehumidifier is affected by the recall?
A . The products affected by this recall only include 30 pint dehumidifiers with certain brand names, model numbers and specific serial numbers. The product's model and serial numbers are visible on the interior of the product, after removing the water bucket. See Below. Q5. What is the company doing to repair affected models?
A . The company is taking the following steps as part of this voluntary repair:
  • Adding a sleeve to cover the screw bolt on the compressor.
  • Replacing the overload protection device (OLP).
  • Adding a new, differently configured compressor cap.

Q6. How can I participate in the recall?
A . Customers can call the toll-free number or access the website below for additional information regarding the recall. Consumers should return affected units for repair to the closest Authorized Service Center (ASC). Information about the location of the nearest ASC which will be provided by customer representatives through the toll-free number.
